Year 1968 Make Ford Model Falcon Futura Body style Sports Coupe Colour Green with black top Engine 200 cid 6 cyl Transmission 3 speed automatic Production 10,077 in North America When I was growing up in Saskatchewan 1n 1969, I purchased a 1968 Falcon Futura Sports Coupe. It looked exactly like my present one except that it had a 289 V8. I had been looking to get another one for a number of years and while attending a swap meet in Kelowna in 1996, I was told about the club in Vancouver. Chuck V. gave me Pete S's name and I phoned him the moment I got home. A week or two later Peter phones and tells me about a car in the Province paper., checks it out for me and says I'd better hurry down. I did and after many months of work here is "Darlin". We've been on many trips and it handles just like new. It was built at the Oakville assembly plant December 13,1967. I found the original build sheet taped to the inside of the left door panel. When I picked this car up it had a few dents etc. but was basically intact. I made it a two-tone which meant I had to look for chrome. I found some through the Club and more on the internet. I got my "Collector Plate" first try. If I can be of help to anyone, my e-mail is trams@bc.sympatico.ca. The club is great and I hope to make it down more often. . |
